Essence is a special crafting component that is used to make only items like Weapons, Armor, and Accessories.
Use in Crafting[]
To prevent clogged Inventory and to optimize player choice, looting these favors the basic essences that can then be changed into specific Affinity Essence.
- Ethereal Essences are more basic and can be converted into Affinity essences at a Replicator.
- Elemental Essences (the Affinity essences) are then used to make items like Weapons, Armor, and Accessories.
Types of Essence[]
The Elemental (Affinity) Essences. Icons for the Affinities have an associated color (e.g. green = affliction) that you'll note is associated with gear and with the creature props.
- Basic Essence:
These can be converted into more essence with an Affinity.
- Elemental (Affinity) Essence:
- Fire Essence
- Earth Essence
- Water Essence
- Lightning Essence
- Radiance Essence
- Affliction Essence
- Shadow Essence
The above essences are called Affinity essences in some contexts, because using two or more items that share the same elemental essence drastically improves the effects as though one gear item has a natural attraction or affinity for the other. When combine enough items of the same affinity, you reach the best possible result or the Maximum Affinity Effect.
How to Obtain[]
You can obtain essences by engaging in the following non-building activities:
- Kill a variety of common monsters
- Hunt the Elite Monsters only found in Outposts
- Find loot chests
- Click on Lost Crystals
- Mine resources
- Log trees
Lumens and Essences[]
- All players earn some Lumens while the engage in non-building activities. The Lumens can be "spent" using the Lumen Station.
- Those who want to add extra Lumens to use can also buy them from the Marketplace tab of the Showcase.
